Claims CommitteeThe Claims Committee provides quality educational seminars, forums on claims questions, and researches and disseminates relevant claims-related information to PAMIC members.Convention CommitteeThe Convention Committee assists the Director of Meetings & Conventions in planning the annual convention, including speaker selection, location, and participation by other state trade associations.Education CommitteeThe Education Committee maintains and enhances the quality and profitability of PAMIC educational activities. They promote the visibility of and attendance at all PAMIC educational activities. This committee coordinates all PAMIC educational activities to assure full coverage of all relevant topics and to reduce any unnecessary duplication of topics.Financial Management CommitteeThe Financial Management Committee plans and produces quality educational seminars and, in coordination with the Education Committee, provides round tables and other forums on financial management, accounting, financial reporting, tax, and investment functions of company operations. The committee also serves as resource for financial management questions.Government Affairs CommitteeThe Government Affairs Committee closely monitors insurance, legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments and assesses their impact on PAMIC membership. The committee assists in development and maintenance of government affairs communications programs with members and fosters and promotes direct member communication with legislators and regulators.Human Resources Committee The Human Resources Committee educates members on human resource issues, problems and solutions
through seminars, roundtables, and forums designed to enhance professional knowledge. The committee coordinates Human Resources roundtables; determines the need for Human Resource seminars and/or forums; explores Human Resource issues related to Leadership, Management, or other soft skills for possible educational offering. They also assist in planning and coordinating activities for seminars/roundtables, recommend and secure speakers and presenters, and promote seminar/roundtable attendance. Underwriting & Loss Prevention CommitteeThe Underwriting & Loss Prevention Committee helps provide quality educational seminars, roundtables, and forums designed to enhance professional skills in underwriting, loss control and related fields. They research and disseminate emerging underwriting/loss control techniques, issues, and problems.Responsibilities: • Design and produce an annual U/LP Seminar. • In coordination with the Education Committee, suggest other meetings focused on emerging issues. • Assist in selection/recruitment of presenters. • Explore possible hotline network or other mentoring/consulting program for PAMIC members. • Examine U/LP issues related to risk retention groups, captives, self-insureds, etc. for possible educational events. Information Systems CommitteeThe Information Systems Committee provides educational support and fosters exchange of information, ideas, and emerging issues relating to information systems technology and methodology as applicable to the insurance industry.Responsibilities: • Plan information systems seminars and/or roundtables as needed. • Select and contact IS speakers and other resources for PAMIC events. • Serve as resources for emerging issues.
